Usage and Maintenance of Side Curtain Vehicle Bodies

1.1.1. Overview of Side Curtain Vehicle Body Structure

The side walls of the side curtain vehicle body are made of full-length curtain fabric, which can be fully opened during loading and unloading. During operation, the curtain is tightened using the tensioners on the front/rear corner posts and the hooks at the bottom of the curtain. The side curtain vehicle body can be divided into two types: without a middle wall and with a middle wall. The side curtain body without a middle wall is equipped with sliding posts and side barriers (cargo blocking bars); the side curtain body with a middle wall has flexible media on the inner walls.

1.1.2. Maintenance of the Curtain Fabric

a. The curtain fabric is specially designed for imported vehicles and should be kept away from fire sources and highly corrosive solutions.
b. The inner surface of the side curtain has longitudinal and transverse reinforcing ribs and wear-resistant strips. If the reinforcing ribs or wear-resistant strips are damaged, they should be replaced promptly to prevent further damage to the curtain fabric.
c. Both ends of the curtain fabric are equipped with roller tubes, which, together with the tensioning devices on the front and rear corner posts, tighten the side curtain. The tension should be appropriate. Generally, the roller tube can be rotated 90 degrees and then fixed when tightening.
d. After using the side curtain tensioner, ensure the handle is securely fixed to prevent the curtain from loosening or getting scratched.
e. Any losses caused by delayed repairs to damaged curtain fabric are the responsibility of the customer.

1.1.3. Maintenance of Flexible Media

a. During loading and unloading, be careful not to tear or scratch the flexible media. If such damage occurs, repair it promptly to prevent further expansion of the damage.
b. Check whether the flexible media pressure strips are loose. If they are, repair them as soon as possible to avoid damage to the cargo.
c. The flexible media is glued to the steel plate with strong adhesive. If detachment occurs, reapply the adhesive promptly.
d. If the flexible media is contaminated by sewage, strong acids, strong alkalis, or other liquids, clean it immediately and let it dry before reuse.

1.1.4. Maintenance of Sliding Posts and Side Barriers (Cargo Blocking Bars)

a. When moving the sliding posts, keep them tilted outward at about 5 degrees. If necessary, add a small amount of lubricant to the sliding post rollers. Sliding posts are specialized critical components. If damaged, contact CIMC Vehicles (Shenzhen) Co., Ltd. or an authorized repair facility.
b. When moving the sliding posts, do not push them forcefully along the track direction to prevent them from derailing.
c. Once moved to the desired position, secure the sliding posts to prevent damage to the side curtain during operation.
d. The side barriers (cargo blocking bars) should be fixed to the bar interfaces to prevent them from falling off during transportation.

1.1.5. Maintenance of Aluminum Alloy Extrusions

The aluminum guide rails are specialized components manufactured by professional manufacturers using specialized molds. If damaged, they may affect the operation of the side curtain and sliding posts. Contact the company or an authorized manufacturer for repairs.
